If there’s anyone left in the world who doesn’t know what Good Goddess is, please fill them in.

Good Goddess is a contemporary, nutrition-based beauty company.

And so much more.

In a nutshell, Good Goddess products either activate everyday food and beverages or are ready to drink or eat, like our probiotic-packed Coconut Cloud Yogurt.

Which, by the way, is game-changing, but please continue…

We have a growing community of women (and, yes, some awesome men) who take health and wellness seriously but also have fun with it.

Is that really possible?

Yes! How sexy does food become when your skin glows as a direct reflection of what you’ve put in your body? That’s what we’re all about, whether it’s our morning Supercoffee or the Sedatonic Tincture we end our days with. Good Goddess’s daily routines take the confusion out of being healthy.

How did you start the brand?

I’ve always been into holistic cooking, potion making and exploring the power of herbs, adaptogenics and supplements. I had a light bulb moment a few years ago when friends started asking me for tips on healthy living so starting this felt natural to me. I soon realized that people are slowly understanding that they’re in control of their health but many don’t know where to start. I started creating a line of products that I think everyone needs in their lives and away I went!

It couldn’t have been that simple.

The process wasn’t easy but the concept was – it came as an answer to many questions and it felt so right. I enrolled in nutrition classes, quit my day job, put my branding and marketing hat on tight and rolled with it.

What did you launch the brand with?

The “brains and beauty” duo, which is our Fantastic Fat MCT Oil and our Powderful Grass-Fed Collagen.

I use both in baking (and in my oatmeal) but often the Fantastic Fat is sold out!

It’s a best-seller and fans like how it raises the metabolism and burns fat. And, unlike other cheap variations, ours contains no palm oil – it is pure coconut oil. I have it every morning in my butter coffee.

What have you added since?

Coconut Cloud Yogurt, which is the cleanest, most delicious coconut-milk yogurt on earth. It is vegan and so good for you. Boostina, our organic perfectly roasted coffee bean, came in hot right after and then we launched our two first tinctures.

The anti-negativity duo from The Good Goddess website which also features a rotating selection of fashion and accessories. If the Palo Santo bracelet with rose quartz stone (which creates calm) doesn’t ward off haters, the bangle should do the trick.

Good Goddess products are now carried on well.ca and at Summerhill Market and Holt Renfrew. Any advice for those dreaming of starting their own biz?

I could go with the usual “just do it” but I know that’s not realistic (and sometimes not so smart). I’d say side hustle your dream in the beginning and test the waters. Work at night and on weekends until you’re too busy to work the day job. Help others in general (start now!) so that when you need advice, help or an intro, people are happy to help you. This sounds obvious but gather visual inspiration: make yourself concept decks, mock-ups, anything that paints a picture. If you have a family, like I do, get them involved in any little way (think labelling and thank-you notes!). They’ll share the excitement, struggles and wins with you. Trust me, you’ll need their patience and support so make them part of the team!

I know you are a well of nutritional info but I love that you’re not prescriptive or sanctimonious about health – you like your pizza and tequila.

I don’t like labels. I listen to my body and I like a 90/10 (clean/dirty) lifestyle. This ratio works for me now but might range from 95/5 to 80/20 depending on what’s happening in my life. If I can’t get a plant-based pizza that satisfies a pizza craving, I’ll get the real thing. And where tequila (or any other little vice) is concerned, if you’re going to have it, have the best and have fun with no regrets, but get back on that good path tomorrow.
